WHO’S GOING TO BE PRESIDENT?
WELCOME TO THE 2028 ELECTION
Omar — Abdul-Jabbar ibn Yusuf · October 6, 2026 · 6 min read

In 2028, someone will be elected President of the United States.
A man?
A woman?
Republican?
Democrat?
Independent?
I don't know.
But I believe one thing should be very different about this election:
AMERICA SHOULD RENEW THE AMERICAN DREAM BY RENEWING THE STANDARD OF LEADERSHIP.
I want America to regain its strength, its character, its beauty, its elegance, and its leadership.
Not by going backward.
Not by pretending the past was perfect.
But by remembering something America once understood very well:
LEADERSHIP HAS TO MEAN SOMETHING.
The most powerful positions in the country should belong to people who have studied, prepared, participated, traveled, learned, solved problems, understood history, understood foreign policy, and demonstrated leadership before they were given power.
That is what I want 2028 to begin.
A renewal.
An American renaissance.
A new standard.
THE 2028 ELECTION SHOULD NOT JUST CHOOSE A PRESIDENT. IT SHOULD BEGIN CHANGING WHAT AMERICA EXPECTS FROM LEADERSHIP.
And this time, the American people should be much more involved.
We have phones.
We have blogs.
We have TikTok.
We have YouTube.
We have artificial intelligence.
We have access to information previous generations could never have imagined.
We can study the people asking for our power.
We can study their record.
We can study what they said.
We can study where they were when difficult events happened.
We can ask what they understood before everybody else started talking about it.
We can ask what problems they tried to solve before Election Day.
And AI can help ordinary citizens organize that enormous amount of information.
This is why I believe the future election will increasingly involve something new:
HUMANS + AI + PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY.
Not AI choosing the president.
The people choose.
But AI can help the people remember.
AI can help us compare promises with actions.
AI can help us organize years of public statements.
AI can help us understand the people asking us to place them into positions of enormous public trust.
And that brings me to something even bigger.
IT IS NO LONGER JUST ABOUT THE PRESIDENT
For too long, presidential elections have mostly been presented to us as:
Who is the president?
And:
Who is the vice president?
But those two people do not run every department of the United States government by themselves.
A presidential administration includes an enormous group of people who will make decisions affecting Americans every single day.
So I want to introduce another standard:
SHOW US THE GOVERNMENT BEFORE WE GIVE YOU THE GOVERNMENT.
If you are running for President of the United States, I want to know much more than who your vice president will be.
Who is your Secretary of State?
Who do you intend to place at Defense?
Treasury?
Justice?
Education?
Transportation?
Commerce?
Homeland Security?
Health and Human Services?
And the other major positions responsible for administering the federal government?
Do not wait until after the American people vote.
Tell us before.
Present the people you intend to nominate.
Let the country hear from them.
Let citizens examine their qualifications.
Let journalists investigate them.
Let experts challenge them.
Let AI organize their public records.
Let Americans understand the administration they are actually being asked to empower.
Because when we elect a president, we are not simply choosing one person.
WE ARE CHOOSING A GOVERNING TEAM.
And that team should matter when we evaluate the presidential candidate.
A strong team should count.
A questionable choice should count.
A candidate who refuses to tell Americans who they intend to place in powerful positions should have to explain why.
NO MORE ASKING THE PEOPLE TO VOTE FIRST AND FIND OUT LATER.
THE PRESIDENTIAL TICKET BECOMES THE GOVERNING TICKET
This is the idea I want to begin introducing.
Not merely:
President + Vice President.
But:
PRESIDENT + VICE PRESIDENT + GOVERNING TEAM.
Show us what your government would look like.
Show us who will help you make decisions.
Show us who will represent America around the world.
Show us who will manage the departments that affect our families, our businesses, our security, our transportation, our economy, and our future.
Put the administration before the people.
Then we can evaluate it.
We can study it.
We can debate it.
We can understand it.
And when Election Day comes, Americans are not voting blindly for a president and hoping everything else works itself out later.
They know what they are considering.
WE THE PEOPLE
There is another reason this matters.
I want future cabinet officials and senior public servants to understand something:
You are not simply serving the personality of the president.
You are serving the United States.
You are serving the Constitution.
And ultimately:
YOU ARE SERVING WE THE PEOPLE.
If a presidential candidate presented you to the American people as part of the governing team before the election, then the public has an interest in what happens to you afterward.
If you are removed, Americans should know why.
If the administration changes direction, Americans should know why.
If promises made before Election Day disappear after Election Day, the record should show it.
That is where the Open Office comes in.
THE OPEN OFFICE
Public power should come with radical public accountability.
Not the destruction of somebody's personal life.
Not surveillance of somebody's family.
Not invading legitimate personal privacy.
But when you exercise the power of the United States government:
THE PUBLIC RECORD SHOULD BE OPEN.
What did you promise?
What did you vote for?
What policy did you support?
What changed?
Why did it change?
Who made the decision?
What did it cost?
What happened afterward?
Did the policy succeed?
Did it fail?
Did you admit your mistake?
Did you correct it?
Those are questions citizens should be able to answer.
And AI can help transform that public record into something ordinary Americans can actually understand.
THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT BECOME MORE POWERFUL BECAUSE OF AI WHILE THE CITIZEN BECOMES LESS POWERFUL.
AI should work in the other direction too.
AI SHOULD MAKE THE CITIZEN STRONGER.
RENEWING THE AMERICAN DREAM
That is what this is really about for me.
I want to renew the American dream.
I want America to again become a place where leadership has standards.
Where knowledge matters.
Where preparation matters.
Where public service matters.
Where ideas matter.
Where ordinary citizens matter.
Where somebody does not need billions of dollars to participate in politics.
Where young Americans can look at government and believe:
If I study, if I serve, if I learn, if I understand the world, if I develop good judgment, maybe someday I can lead too.
That is the America I want.
Not an America where leadership belongs only to whoever has the largest political machine.
Not an America where we discover the government after we elect it.
Not an America where citizens are treated like an audience.
WE ARE NOT THE AUDIENCE. WE ARE THE PEOPLE.
And 2028 gives us an opportunity to begin proving what that means.
WHO’S GOING TO BE PRESIDENT?
I don't know.
And that is okay.
Give us the best candidate.
Man or woman.
I don't care.
Give us somebody who understands the responsibility.
Give us somebody who understands the world.
Give us somebody who understands America.
Give us somebody who understands that power is not something you possess.
POWER IS A TRUST.
And if you are running for president in 2028:
Start now.
Show us your work.
Show us your ideas.
Show us your foreign policy.
Show us your judgment.
Show us your record.
And now:
SHOW US YOUR GOVERNMENT.
Because this election should be about more than who gets into the Oval Office.
It should be about what kind of leadership America expects from everyone who enters the administration.
2028 HAS ALREADY BEGUN.
NOT THE CAMPAIGN.
THE QUALIFICATION.
WHO’S GOING TO BE PRESIDENT?
SHOW US YOUR GOVERNMENT.
2028 HAS ALREADY BEGUN.
NOT THE CAMPAIGN. THE QUALIFICATION.
THE KENNEDY STANDARD
THE AMERICAN RENAISSANCE
